Tropical Green Smoothie

As much as I love my Natalia’s Green Lemonade, I do realize that it might not be the best introduction to green smoothies.  But if you’re interested in getting more raw greens in your diet, then green smoothies are a super easy way to do it.

Looking for some compelling reasons why you should incorporate green smoothies into your diet?  You might like Green for Life by Victoria Boutenko.  The little inspiring book is like green smoothie propaganda.  It’s definitely on the fringe (cutting edge?) of nutritional science, but I don’t think you’re going to find anybody who will argue with the book’s main premise that we should all be consuming more greens.

If you’d like to start off with the most innocuous green smoothie recipes, I highly recommend using tropical fruits to mask the green taste- pineapple, banana and mango all work really well.  Most people start off this way and before they know it, they start using less and less fruit and more and more greens.  Start slow and pretty soon you’ll be drinking parsley and kale smoothies with the best (and most hard core) of them…

Try coconut water instead of water… adds to the tropical effect! ;)

Green smoothies are the best, aren't they? I also like mine with kale and a little protein powder. Yours is a stunning color with just the spinach!

Thanks! I like a little kale too… but I thought I would keep this one mild and easy for green smoothie newbies :)

I love my green smoothies. I put frozen strawberries in mine to add some fiber!
