Goodbye American South!

Photo via Pulsarecard.com.

I feel like I say this at the end of my time in each country or region, but it's going to be hard to move on.  I've had a great time and I'm already anxious to get return to this neck of the woods... I'm definitely adding Louisiana/Cajun Country to my bucket list of places to cook from.

If you're new around here, or just in case you missed a recipe or two, here's a roundup of my gluten-free recipes from the American South.

* Buttermilk Pecan Pralines- pecan halves in a sweet and creamy buttermilk fudge.
* Only Buttermilk Biscuits could top both a chicken main dish and peach dessert.
* This Quick and Easy Tomatoes and Okra is the perfect (and healthy!) Southern side.
* You owe it to yourself to try this Garlic and Cheddar Black-Eyed Pea Dip.
* These Smoky Bacon and Cheddar Shrimp and Grits are quick and delicious.
* I totally loved the pleasantly retro and strangely addicting Watergate Salad.
* Why should lemon have all the fun?  Southern Sweet Lime Tea is pretty awesome.
* Like a slice of sunshine- bright Lemon Blueberry Bread with a tart lemony glaze.
* Forget Green Bean Casserole- serve these Tangy Bacon Green Beans at Thanksgiving.
* Mud Hen Bars: chocolate chip cookie bars with toasted marshmallows and meringue.
* Want to upgrade your cornbread?  How about some Jalapeno Cheddar Cornbread?
* Love wings?  Try these Spicy Coca-Cola Jalapeno Glazed Chicken Wings.
* Using crystallized ginger is the easiest way to make Ginger Lemonade.
* The taste of pecan pie taste in a quick and easy muffin form: Pecan Pie Muffins.
* Loaded Bacon and Cheddar Baked Potato Soup- like the best baked potato ever!
* With a pecan crisp topping, this Sweet Potato Casserole could double as a dessert.
* Sweet Onion and Corn Cheddar Grits- for you vegetarian grit lovers out there.
* Mississippi Mud Brownies are covered with marshmallows, pecans and a rich frosting.

As always, thanks for following along.  Hope you guys have discovered a new favorite or two.  Be back soon with a new destination.  This next one should be pretty good too!
